Air quality permits issued by the District are designed to reduce air pollution and
to help achieve and maintain federal and state air quality health standards. The District issues a variety of
air quality permits to businesses and/or facilities which are renewed by paying the annual renewal fee(s).
Air quality permits are required by law prior to installing new equipment or processes that may release or control
the release of air pollutants, before modifying existing equipment, when a facility wishes
to modify a permit condition or facility emissions, or when a change in the method of operation
at a facility occurs.
